Optimist International has provided its Club’s access to a customized Blanket Club Directors & Officers Liability program to protect Club Directors & Officers from liability resulting from decisions they’ve made on behalf of their Club. Cost savings have been negotiated for Optimist International Clubs.

Who is protected under this policy?
Past, present or future Directors; Trustees; Officers; Board Members; Paid, Leased,Temporary Employees; Volunteers or Staff Members of the Organization; the Club.
What is the available coverage?
- $1,000,000 per claim with Blanket Annual Aggregate of $10,000,000 with $1,000 retention
- Policy includes Employment Practices Liability included in the above policy limits
- $20,000 sublimit coverage for claims alleging misuse of membership dues where membership is mandatory (optional endorsement at a cost of $50)
What are some of the policy features?
- Defense costs are outside the policy limits
- Duty to Defend coverage
- First Dollar Defense coverage
- Entity coverage
- Outside Director coverage on other non-profit boards
- Punitive Damages, where allowed by law
- Discrimination and violations of the ADA act
What are some of the benefits of a Blanket D&O policy?
- Minimum premium is as low as $423 and maximum of $785
- Receive all the benefits of a Comprehensive D&O policy without the high premium
- Easy to complete application
What are some of the standard exclusions?
- No coverage for dishonest, fraudulent,criminal or malicious acts or omissions
- No coverage for claims relating to bodily injury, sickness, disease or death
- No coverage for injury to or destruction of property
- Pollution
